Where to Eat Thanksgiving Dinner in NYC in 2026

The short answer: Thanksgiving 2026 is Thursday, November 26. Plenty of New York restaurants serve a Thanksgiving prix fixe, usually from around noon to 9pm, at anywhere from about $55 for a turkey plate to $265 or more for a fine dining menu. A few have already posted 2026 menus (il Buco, Gabriel Kreuther, Café Boulud, Talia's Steakhouse), but most publish theirs in late October and early November. Book as soon as a menu goes live, pre-order pies by mid November, and don't count on walking in anywhere popular.

As of late October 2026, most restaurants hadn't announced their 2026 menus yet. Below, we say what's confirmed for 2026 and what a place did in 2025, so you know which is which. Prices and hours from 2025 are a guide, not a promise.

Which NYC restaurants have announced Thanksgiving 2026 dinners?

Short answer: il Buco, Gabriel Kreuther, Café Boulud and Talia's Steakhouse already have 2026 Thanksgiving listings, and Quality Bistro has a parade morning brunch.

  • il Buco (47 Bond Street, NoHo). A five course, family style Italian and Mediterranean prix fixe at $145 per person, with an optional wine pairing. The 2026 listing shows seatings from noon. Go if you want Thanksgiving to feel like a long, candlelit dinner party rather than a turkey plate.
  • Gabriel Kreuther (41 West 42nd Street, across from Bryant Park). A four course French Alsatian menu with seatings from 2pm to 8pm on November 26, 2026. In 2025 it was $265 per person, with a turkey roulade option alongside squab and supplements for turbot or Wagyu. This is the splurge.
  • Café Boulud (100 East 63rd Street, Upper East Side). A three course French menu from 11am to 8pm. The 2026 listing gives $75 for children under 10 and $95 for the wine pairing, but no adult price yet.
  • Talia's Steakhouse (Upper West Side). A glatt kosher, four course Thanksgiving dinner for $118 per person, or $104 per person for at-home delivery, announced in October 2026. There are ribeye and salmon options if not everyone wants turkey.

These listings are ticketed through Resy, so you pay or put down a deposit when you book.

Where did people eat Thanksgiving dinner in NYC last year?

Short answer: in 2025 the big names ran prix fixe menus from roughly $70 to $225, and most of them do it every year. Expect them back for 2026, at similar or slightly higher prices.

If you want a classic, grown-up Thanksgiving

  • Café Carmellini (Fifth Avenue, NoMad). In 2025: three courses for $195, noon to 9pm, with oysters or foie gras to start, heritage turkey and a dessert trolley. Polished without being stiff.
  • Le Pavillon (One Vanderbilt, Midtown). In 2025: $195 for three courses, $95 for kids under 10, 1pm to 9:15pm. Daniel Boulud's dining room next to Grand Central, so it works if you're arriving by train.
  • Lex Yard (550 Lexington Avenue, inside the Waldorf). In 2025: $225, with herb basted halibut or turkey and a pumpkin seed Waldorf salad, a nice nod to the building.
  • The Russian Tea Room (150 West 57th Street). In 2025: $145 for adults and $95 for kids, mixing pelmeni and stroganoff with turkey and sides. Old New York glamour, a block from the parade route.
  • Bourbon Steak (160 Central Park South). In 2025: $195 for adults, $97.50 for kids, with wood grilled turkey and truffle mashed potatoes.

If you want something cozier, and a bit cheaper

  • Red Rooster Harlem. In 2025: an $85 turkey prix fixe upstairs and an $80 buffet downstairs at Ginny's Supper Club, 11am to 9pm, with live music. The most festive room on this list.
  • Melba's (300 West 114th Street, Harlem). In 2025: a $69 three course menu with roast turkey or braised short ribs. Southern comfort food in a neighborhood favorite.
  • Chez Nous at The Marlton (5 West 8th Street, Greenwich Village). In 2025: $85 for three courses, with duck confit or roast turkey and pumpkin tart.
  • Gemma at The Bowery Hotel (335 Bowery). In 2025: $75 for three courses, ending with gingersnap pumpkin pie.
  • L'Amico (Chelsea). In 2025: $98 for three courses built around wood fired turkey, 11:30am to 9pm.
  • Le Crocodile (80 Wythe Avenue, Williamsburg). In 2025: $163, seatings from 1pm. The pick if you're staying in Brooklyn.

If not everyone wants turkey

  • Tamarind Tribeca. In 2025 it went à la carte with Indian spiced dishes like tandoor halibut and pumpkin halwa, 11:30am to 10pm.
  • Raf's (290 Elizabeth Street, Nolita). In 2025: a $150 European menu with chestnut ravioli and a choice of wood oven turkey or porchetta.
  • Francie (Williamsburg). In 2025 it skipped turkey for a $160 "Ducksgiving" duck meal, served 1:30pm to 7pm.

Where can I get a casual Thanksgiving meal in NYC?

Short answer: go for a turkey plate at a big group restaurant, a family style Italian or barbecue spot, or a pub. Many places with a regular menu also stay open, but hours are often shorter, so call ahead.

  • Quality Branded restaurants (Quality Bistro, Quality Italian, Quality Meats, Smith & Wollensky and others). In 2025 they served a $56 Thanksgiving plate with turkey breast and thigh, sausage stuffing and cranberry mostarda.
  • Carmine's (200 West 44th Street in Times Square, and 2450 Broadway on the Upper West Side). In 2025 it served roast turkey with stuffing and sides, dine in or cold to take home. Huge platters, made for groups.
  • Virgil's Real BBQ (152 West 44th Street). In 2025: $49.95 plates of hickory smoked turkey with cornbread stuffing, plus a $395 package for four to six.
  • Bar Primi (349 West 33rd Street). In 2025: an à la carte menu with turkey and focaccia stuffing, noon to 8pm, a few blocks from Herald Square.
  • The Capital Grille. In 2025, the downtown guide listed a $55 Thanksgiving plate for adults and $20 for kids.

If you're downtown, Lower Manhattan had a deep bench in 2025 too, from Fraunces Tavern's turkey dinner in a historic tavern to Schilling's $75 Austrian take on the holiday.

Where can I eat near the Macy's parade route?

Short answer: book a parade brunch if you want food and a view, or plan a late lunch at a restaurant a block or two off the route. Don't expect to grab a table on the route at 11am without a reservation.

The parade starts at 8:30am and has traditionally finished around noon. For where to stand, when to arrive and where to stay, see our guide to watching the 2026 Macy's parade.

  • Quality Bistro (120 West 55th Street). Its 2026 Parade Viewing Brunch runs from 8am to noon on November 26, with a terrace over the route, a buffet and drinks. It's ticketed, and parade events like this can sell out early.
  • After the parade, near Central Park South: Bourbon Steak (160 Central Park South) and The Russian Tea Room (150 West 57th Street) are steps from where the route turns onto Sixth Avenue, if they repeat their 2025 menus.
  • After the parade, farther south: Bar Primi on West 33rd Street and Melba's at Grand Central (which sold grab and go desserts, no pre-order needed, from November 25 to 28 in 2025).

Streets around the route close to traffic, so plan to walk a few blocks to lunch. Book a table for 1pm or later to give yourself time to get out of the crowd.

Where should I pre-order Thanksgiving pie in NYC?

Short answer: order by mid November. In 2025, many bakery deadlines fell between November 18 and 21, with pickup in the days before Thanksgiving.

What these bakeries did in 2025, per The Infatuation:

  • Four & Twenty Blackbirds (Gowanus). Ten inch pies for $46, including the famous salty honey, brown butter pumpkin and bittersweet chocolate pecan. The one most New Yorkers mean when they say "Thanksgiving pie."
  • Bubby's (Tribeca). $50 pies like sour cherry and pumpkin praline. Order by November 20, pickup November 24 to 26.
  • Dominique Ansel Bakery (Soho). $70 "extra silky" pumpkin, bourbon pecan and salted caramel apple, with pickup from November 21 to 27.
  • Miolin Bakery (Park Slope). $60 pumpkin, apple and maple pecan. Order by November 18.
  • Kora (Sunnyside, Queens). Filipino pies like ube and buko or kalabasa spice, $55 to $58. A great pie to bring if you want to surprise the table.
  • Hani's Bakery & Café (East Village). $65 to $70 pies like pumpkin maple meringue, with pickup November 22 to 26.
  • Melba's at Grand Central. $45 sweet potato pie, no pre-order needed.
  • Maman (Midtown). $39 pies, the best value on the list.

Thanksgiving falls a day earlier this year (the 26th, not the 27th), so expect 2026 deadlines to shift earlier too. Check each bakery's site in early November.

What's closed in NYC on Thanksgiving Day?

Short answer: many restaurants close or run short hours, and some big attractions close, including The Met.

  • The Met (both The Met Fifth Avenue and The Met Cloisters) is closed on Thanksgiving Day, per its official site. Check other museums' holiday hours before you plan around them.
  • Restaurants: plenty stay open, but many switch to a set menu only, close early, or close entirely. Even casual favorites can change hours. Katz's Delicatessen, for example, has closed early on Thanksgiving, so call before you go.
  • Bakeries: pickup windows often end on Wednesday or early Thursday, so don't plan to buy pie on Thursday afternoon.

When should I book Thanksgiving dinner in NYC?

Short answer: as soon as the menu you want goes live, which is usually late October to early November.

  • When menus appear: in 2025, the main roundups came out between October 29 (Secret NYC) and November 10 (Downtown NY), with Time Out's list going up on November 3. Expect a similar window in 2026.
  • When reservations open: some restaurants open bookings on a rolling window (Il Tinello in Midtown opens 90 days ahead), while others release Thanksgiving tables as a ticketed event on Resy. Set an alert on the platform for the places you want.
  • Pick your time: early afternoon seatings (around 1pm to 3pm) and the 7pm slot go first. A noon or late seating is easier to get.
  • Groups: for six or more, call or email the restaurant directly, since many limit party sizes online.

If you're collecting options from friends and from posts like this one, saving them all in one shared list on Otta can make it easier for the group to agree before the good slots go.
